Former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame has reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Accra today, Monday, October 6, 2025, to respond to a petition filed against him by businessman Richard Jakpa.
The petition, submitted to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), accuses Mr. Dame of attempting to influence Jakpa’s testimony in the ambulance procurement trial involving former Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson. Mr. Jakpa, the third accused in the case, claims the former Attorney-General made efforts to persuade him to provide testimony that would implicate Dr. Forson.
Following the petition, the CID invited Mr. Dame to respond to the allegations. His appearance, initially scheduled for last week, was rescheduled to Monday, October 6, at 10 a.m., for him to provide a formal statement.
Mr. Dame has categorically denied the allegations, describing them as false and politically motivated. He maintains that he conducted himself lawfully and professionally throughout the ambulance case and has nothing to hide.
