Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is leading the country’s delegation to the 2025 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings taking place in Washington, D.C., United States, from Monday, October 13 to Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The meetings bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, and development partners from around the world to discuss global economic stability, development financing, and strategies to strengthen resilience in developing economies.
Dr. Forson is accompanied by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana.
The delegation is expected to hold discussions with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank Group, and other international financial institutions to review Ghana’s economic performance under the ongoing IMF-supported programme.
The meetings will also provide an opportunity for Ghana to explore additional development financing and private sector investment avenues to support the country’s economic recovery and growth agenda.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the engagement forms part of efforts to sustain macroeconomic stability, improve debt sustainability, and attract new investments into key sectors including infrastructure, energy, and agriculture.
The 2025 Annual Meetings will feature high-level panels on global growth, climate finance, and debt management, alongside country-specific bilateral discussions.
Dr. Forson is expected to provide updates on Ghana’s fiscal consolidation progress and highlight the government’s commitment to transparent economic reforms.
