Sonnie Badu, a Ghanaian gospel musician based in the United Kingdom, recently shared insights into the difficulties he faced in obtaining sponsorship for his recent concert.

Sonnie Badu explained in a recent interview that despite devoting over five months to meticulous planning, his team encountered difficulties because the majority of the approached sponsors did not offer support.

As a result, Sonnie had to sell his valuable Rolex watch to fund the event.

Sonnie Badu, a Ghanaian artiste based in the United Kingdom, put on a successful show at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, December 9.

Prior to the event, the Baba hitmaker posted pictures of himself on crutches on his social media pages, announcing that he had undergone major surgery as a result of a domestic accident.

Surprisingly, some internet users claimed that the alleged domestic incident was merely a publicity stunt for Sonnie Badu’s concert.

Their fears were confirmed when Sonnie Badu took the stage and delivered an eclectic performance that will undoubtedly linger in the minds of patrons for a long time.

And this time, Sonnie Badu, who had been using crutches for a week following the said domestic, performed without them.

After his performance, the Wonder God artiste reclaimed his crutches and was assisted off the stage.

This has strengthened the claims of some netizens that the Crutches episode was merely a marketing ploy for Rhythms of Africa.
