NAM1 also known as Nana Appiah Mensah has announced plans for a 2,000-person rally to demand $30 million in compensation for his arrest and detention by the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On Monday, November 20, 2023, the Chief Executive Officer of the defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold, claimed in a post on X that the protest would take place across UAE’s numerous embassies abroad and in Ghana.

In addition to compensation, he claims that the protest would seek payment of arrears totaling $43.8 million owed to him by a Dubai-based company, Horizon Royal Diamond DMCC.
Following the financial losses suffered by investors in his now-defunct Menzgold gold dealership, NAM1 is on trial in Ghana on several fraud-related allegations.
