Chris Hughton, the sacked Ghana coach, has a lower win rate than Charles Kwabla (CK) Akonnor, Milovan Rajevac, and Otto Addo.

The Irishman finished his disastrous tenure as Ghana’s coach with a 31% win rate, the lowest among the last four coaches to lead the Black Stars.

During Akonnor’s time in charge, he managed a win rate of 40%, while Rajevac and Addo had win rates of 38% and 42%, respectively.

Hughton was relieved of his duties on Tuesday, following Ghana’s disappointing exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

According to a statement from the Ghana Football Association, the Executive Council has also decided to dissolve the national team’s technical team.

Hughton was appointed as Ghana’s coach in February 2023 to replace Otto Addo, but his tenure did not go as planned.

The Black Stars have struggled over the last 11 months, winning only four of their 13 matches under the Irishman.

Ghana has also failed to win any of their last five matches in all competitions, including a loss to Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The final straw was the Black Stars’ humiliating exit from the 2023 AFCON, in which they failed to win a single game in a group that included Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.

Meanwhile, Ghana has been eliminated from the group stage of their last three tournaments: two AFCONs and a World Cup.
