An Assistant District Planning Officer with the Yunyoo-Nasuan District Assembly in the North East Region was shot and killed by unknown armed robbers on Friday morning, October 10, 2025.
The incident occurred when the victim was traveling on a Metro Mass Transit bus with registration number GN-5180, en route from Bunkpurugu to Tamale.
According to eyewitnesses, the attack happened near Nakpanduri, where armed robbers ambushed the bus. The driver reportedly attempted to evade the attackers but was unsuccessful. The robbers then fired shots through the rear of the vehicle, fatally striking the officer who was seated on that side.
The victim’s body has since been conveyed to the morgue, while police investigations are yet to commence into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
