Amasaman High Court adjourns Nana Agradaa appeal, sets February 5 for judgment

The Amasaman High Court has adjourned the appeal hearing of former fetish priestess turned evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, to February 5, 2026, when the court is expected to deliver its judgment.

Nana Agradaa is challenging both her conviction and the 15-year prison sentence imposed on July 3, 2025, after she was found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.

She contends that the trial was flawed and that the evidence presented did not support the verdict, describing the sentence as excessive.

Speaking to the media after proceedings on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, said the adjournment followed the failure of the Attorney-General’s Office to comply with earlier court directives.

He explained that technical challenges relating to the electronic evidence required for the appeal contributed to the delay.

Mr Baffour further disclosed that the defence opposed a request by the Attorney-General’s Office for additional time to file submissions.

In response, the court set February 5 as the date for judgment, while allowing the Attorney-General’s Office the option to file written addresses if it so chooses.

“The court has adjourned the case to February 5, 2026, to deliver its judgment. By then, the Office of the Attorney-General will have the opportunity to file its written addresses, if it is minded to do so,” Mr Baffour stated.
