According to the International Monetary Fund, in April 2025, it will formally evaluate Ghana’s progress toward fulfilling important commitments.

This will take place during the Extended Credit Facility arrangement’s fourth review.

Following the conclusion of a staff team led by Stéphane Roudet’s visit to Ghana to evaluate the macroeconomic performance of the nation under the ECF program, the Fund made this point in a statement.

The mission team discussed recent macroeconomic developments with Ghanaian authorities.

Additionally, it sparked conversations about the policies that will support the budget for 2025. According to the Fund, this discussion will go on in the upcoming weeks.

We also evaluated the authorities’ performance in fulfilling important pledges made under the program funded by the Fund. These will be formally evaluated as part of the Extended Credit Facility arrangement’s fourth review, which is anticipated to take place in April 2025.

In addition to representatives from other government agencies and other important stakeholders, the IMF staff met with President Mahama, Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson, and Acting Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama of the Bank of Ghana and their teams.

The staff team would like to thank the Ghanaian government and other interested parties for their helpful participation and assistance throughout this mission.

Ghana has received approximately US$1.9 billion in total payments under the ECF program.
