The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has expressed confidence that the party will secure the Karaga parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections while continuing to pursue development initiatives in the constituency.
Speaking during a thank-you tour of Karaga, he stated that the party remains focused on expanding its support base and is optimistic about winning the seat after narrowly missing out in previous elections.
According to him, the party intends to establish a lasting presence in the constituency once it secures victory.
He further stressed that despite not currently holding the parliamentary seat, the NDC remains committed to supporting development efforts in the area and ensuring residents benefit from national projects and resources.
Asiedu Nketiah said the party believes that by the next election cycle, residents of Karaga would have experienced and assessed the performance of the current administration, strengthening confidence in the NDC’s leadership.
The Karaga parliamentary seat is currently represented by Mohammed Amin Adam of the NPP.
The NDC Chairman also called on party members to take upcoming branch elections seriously, emphasizing the importance of electing committed and hardworking individuals to leadership positions within the party.
He urged members to recognise and support executives who have remained dedicated and contributed significantly to the party’s growth and success.
At the same time, he cautioned against endorsing individuals driven by personal interests rather than the broader goals of the party, encouraging members to prioritise loyalty and commitment.
Touching on employment opportunities for the youth, Asiedu Nketiah assured supporters that recruitment into the security services would continue in phases.
He explained that the current recruitment exercise represents only the beginning and indicated that additional opportunities are expected in subsequent years.
