The Ghana national football team have begun training in Puebla, Mexico, ahead of an international friendly against co-hosts Mexico.
The team arrived in North America on Sunday to start preparations for the match, which is scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2026.
The friendly forms part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States in June.
Training sessions are expected to continue on Wednesday and Thursday before the matchday.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his technical team are hoping to see a strong display from the players ahead of the announcement of Ghana’s final World Cup squad.
The match will also give the technical team the chance to assess emerging talents seeking places in both the Black Stars and the Ghana national under-23 football team squad.
