Wisdom Academy under fire as BECE candidates left unregistered

Parents and guardians of students at Wisdom Academy in Jamestown are demanding urgent intervention from authorities after the school’s management allegedly collected BECE registration fees but failed to register the candidates for the examination.

According to the affected families, they paid the required fees to the school in good faith, expecting that their wards would be duly registered for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). However, they were later shocked to discover that the students’ names were not captured in the official register for this year’s exams.

Some parents say repeated attempts to seek clarification from the school’s authorities have yielded little to no response, deepening their frustration and concern about the academic future of their children.

“We trusted the school to do the right thing after taking our money, but now our children are the ones suffering,” one parent lamented, calling for swift action to rectify the situation.

The incident has sparked anxiety among final-year students, many of whom now face the possibility of missing the crucial examination, a key requirement for progression to senior high school.

Parents and guardians are therefore appealing to the Ghana Education Service and other relevant bodies to investigate the matter and ensure that affected students are given the opportunity to sit for the exams.

Efforts to reach the management of Wisdom Academy for comment have so far been unsuccessful.
