Ghana will face a challenging test at the 2026 CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations after being drawn in Group D alongside Senegal, South Africa, and Algeria.

The draw for the tournament was held on April 8, 2026, in Cairo, with the competition scheduled to take place in Morocco from May 13 to June 3.

Ghana entered the draw in Pot 4, following a prolonged absence from the tournament, having missed out on qualification for several editions. The Black Starlets secured their place this time after finishing second at the 2025 WAFU Zone B Championship.

Group D is expected to be one of the most competitive in the tournament, featuring traditional youth football powerhouses and emerging talents from across the continent.

At stake are qualification spots for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, with the top two teams from each group earning automatic places at the global tournament.

    Full Group Draw:

    • Group A: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Ethiopia
    • Group B: Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Uganda, DR Congo
    • Group C: Mali, Angola, Tanzania, Mozambique
    • Group D: Senegal, South Africa, Ghana, Algeria

With the tournament fast approaching, Ghana will be aiming to make a strong impression and secure a return to the global stage.
