Barely three years after its establishment, the Kwahu Business Forum is already making a notable impact on Ghana’s recovering economy, according to Senior Presidential Adviser on the Economy, Seth Terkper.

Speaking at the opening of the 2026 Kwahu Business Forum at Mpraeso Hills, he highlighted the forum’s growth since its launch in 2024 by President John Dramani Mahama and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.

Mr. Terkper explained that what started as an initiative to promote entrepreneurship within the Kwahu area has developed into a credible and influential platform for business dialogue, investment promotion, and private sector engagement. He stressed that the vision behind the forum remains unchanged—empowering Ghanaian businesses to compete both locally and internationally through better access to finance, markets, networks, and a stable policy environment.

He also noted significant progress over the past year, with increased participation from government representatives, private sector players, and members of the diaspora. According to him, discussions at the forum have become more targeted, practical, and solution-driven.

Mr. Terkper further revealed that the forum is already producing tangible results, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agribusiness sector. Several of these businesses, he said, have secured diaspora-backed funding since 2024, enabling them to expand production and improve their export readiness.

He cited the example of Octavia Otoo of Golf Chemical Limited, who presented a biofuel project at the 2025 forum. Through connections made on the platform and support from the Chief of Staff’s office, she was able to secure funding from the Agricultural Development Bank. The project, located in Kwahu Afram Plains, is now underway—an example Mr. Terkper said demonstrates the forum’s practical value.

In his opening remarks, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah described the forum as a vital link between policy and implementation. He emphasised that it goes beyond ceremony, serving as a space where ideas, investment, and partnerships come together to drive national development.

“This Forum is not just a gathering,” he said. “It is where policy meets practice, capital meets creativity, and opportunity meets enterprise.”

He added that the event provides a platform for networking, exhibitions, investment discussions, and knowledge sharing, all aimed at strengthening collaboration between government and businesses, as well as supporting both established companies and emerging entrepreneurs.

The third edition of the Kwahu Business Forum officially opened on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Kwahu Convention Centre.
