The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced when outstanding National Service Scheme (NSS) allowance arrears will be paid, bringing a wave of relief to thousands of service personnel across the country.

In an official communication, the Authority acknowledged delays in the disbursement of allowances and assured personnel that steps have been taken to resolve the backlog. According to the NSA, the arrears are expected to be cleared within the stated payment window, subject to the release of funds and completion of administrative processes.

The delay in payments had sparked frustration among service personnel, many of whom rely heavily on their monthly allowances to cover transportation, accommodation, and other basic living expenses. Some had taken to social media to express concerns, calling on the Authority to provide clarity on when payments would resume.

Responding to these concerns, the NSA emphasized its commitment to ensuring that all eligible personnel receive their due allowances. Management explained that the delay was largely due to financial and verification processes but assured stakeholders that the necessary arrangements have now been finalized to facilitate payment.

The Authority further urged service personnel to remain calm and avoid misinformation, stating that official updates would continue to be communicated through its verified channels.

The announcement is expected to ease tensions among personnel who have been anxiously awaiting their stipends. As the payment date approaches, many hope the clearance of arrears will restore confidence in the system and ensure smoother disbursements going forward.

The NSA reiterated its appreciation for the patience and cooperation of service personnel nationwide, pledging to strengthen its processes to prevent future delays.
