Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she was at a breaking point before marrying Nigerian politician and businessman Ned Nwoko, saying she came close to harming herself if the union didn’t happen.
In a candid video posted to her Instagram account on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, the actress addressed years of speculation about her relationship with the 65-year-old senator. She dismissed the notion that she married for money, insisted the decision was hers alone, and described the emotional turmoil she faced when her family opposed the marriage.
“Everyone was looking for me. My brothers were fighting, breaking bottles. Everybody warned me, and then I drove out at night. I was going to kill myself if I don’t marry Ned,” she said.
Regina said her mother, actress Rita Daniels, had strongly advised against the marriage, but she felt compelled by love to proceed regardless. She told her followers: “Stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me, NO! We were not broke.” She also asked fans and critics to stop insulting her mother, calling her “the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Describing the depth of the family rift, Regina said she has even made a plea to the police for help when her siblings allegedly tried to stop her from going through with the wedding. She maintained that her marriage was not a transaction, but a choice: “It’s crazy, but I did, and I still care for and respect him. That’s love.”
The video emerges amidst growing public focus on their marriage, which has been subject to intense scrutiny due to the significant age gap and allegations involving domestic issues and family pressure.
