Ahead of their crucial FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Mali in 2026, the Black Stars have safely arrived in Bamako.
Ghana will take on the Eagles on Thursday, June 6 at the Stade du 26 Mars in an attempt to increase their chances of qualifying.
Since combining, Otto Addo and his boys have been training at the Accra Sports Stadium and the University of Ghana Stadium. On Monday, a full house reported to camp.
The team took an ASKY Airlines flight on Tuesday night and arrived in Mali, a country in West Africa, two hours later.
The Black Stars, who are currently fourth in Group I behind Madagascar, Mali, and Comoros, have had a patchy start to the World Cup qualifiers.
This comes after they defeated Madagascar 1-0 at home but were unexpectedly defeated 1-0 away to Comoros.
After the match against Mali, Addo’s team will play the Central African Republic (CAR) at home, giving them an opportunity to atone for their past transgressions.
Ghana will enter the two matches reeling from a dismal run of play in which they haven’t won a match since the beginning of 2024.
Since January, the Black Stars have participated in six games without winning any of them. They also experienced defeat in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group stage loss in the Ivory Coast.
Prior to the match against Mali on Wednesday, Ghana’s captain Thomas Partey and coach Addo are scheduled to speak to the media during a press conference.
