Nana Akua Addo, a renowned Ghanaian actress and fashion icon, has urged celebrities not to appear on red carpets with their car keys and phones.
Nana Akua stated in a recent interview with Berla Mundi on the Day Show that the red carpet is a platform for showcasing elegance and making a fashion statement, rather than a casual event where everyday items should be displayed.
She described the practice of walking the red carpet with phones and car keys as “old-fashioned,” emphasizing that it is incorrect.
The media personality went on to say that Nigerians are taking fashion to new heights, emphasizing how phones and car keys are handled on the red carpet.
“We should stop bringing our phones and car keys to the red carpet; it’s outdated. Sometimes you attend a red-carpet event and notice people with their phones, and you have to remind them to hand them over to their personal assistant or someone.
“The way Nigerians are advancing fashion is on a different level…completely professional. Their personal assistants and aides are present to ensure that everything is in order before you walk the red carpet. The emphasis is solely on you, your brand, and your attire.

Nana Akua, known for her impeccable style and presence at high-profile events, is advocating for more glamour and sophistication on the red carpet. Her suggestion is not only aesthetic, but also aims to raise the bar for public appearances.
Celebrities can present a more polished and cohesive appearance by leaving out mundane items. She suggested using clutch bags or having an assistant handle such items discreetly to maintain the ensemble’s integrity.
