U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to release “whatever she thinks is credible” regarding late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as pressure mounts from within his own support base.
The statement comes amid rare criticism from Trump’s political allies, following the Justice Department’s recent declaration that it found no evidence of a so-called “client list” linked to Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking network.
Speaking during a media briefing at the White House, Trump sought to address growing concerns, saying, “If there’s credible information, it should be released. The public deserves transparency.”
Bondi, a longtime ally of the President, has come under fire for the department’s handling of the Epstein investigation. Critics accuse her of attempting to downplay the wider implications of Epstein’s connections to powerful individuals, which continue to fuel public speculation and mistrust.
Many within Trump’s political base have voiced frustration, arguing that the administration is failing to deliver on promises to expose elite criminal networks. Some conservative commentators and social media figures have openly questioned the decision to close parts of the investigation.
Epstein, a financier with ties to high-profile political and business figures, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide, but controversy surrounding his case has never fully faded.
As calls grow for greater accountability, Trump’s latest comments suggest an effort to contain the fallout and reassure his base that transparency remains a priority. However, whether Bondi’s office will revisit its findings or release more information remains to be seen.
