Prophet Johnson Adu Boahen, the General Overseer of Christ Revival Baptist Church, has challenged Apostle Isaac Owusu Bempah, the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International to a prophetic contest following Apostle Bempah’s recent statements regarding the 2026 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
In a sermon on Sunday, September 28, 2025, Apostle Owusu Bempah suggested that the NPP would suffer a significant defeat in the 2028 general elections if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected as flagbearer.
In response, Prophet Adu Boahen criticized Bempah’s prophecy, labeling it as “untrue” and accusing him of speaking out of personal interest rather than divine revelation. He said the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general election was not due to Dr. Bawumia, but rather because of the resentment Ghanaians had toward the party’s governance structures under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Prophet Adu Boahen went further, throwing a direct challenge: I therefore challenge him into a contest and let us see if those prophecies will come to pass. He concluded by stressing that leadership is the sovereign choice of God, not man;
It does not matter if a leader in Ghana is a Muslim or a Christian. It is only God who chooses a leader, and in 2028, it will be God who decides.
