American rapper Nicki Minaj is reportedly facing the possible loss of her $20 million Los Angeles mansion following a court move to recover an unpaid legal judgment linked to a 2019 incident involving her husband, Kenneth Petty.
Court documents indicate that a German security guard, Thomas Weidenmüller, was awarded a default judgment of about $503,000 after claiming he was assaulted by Petty during a concert in Frankfurt in 2019.
Lawyers for Weidenmüller have since filed an application seeking to sell Minaj’s Hidden Hills property to satisfy the outstanding amount. The filings describe the mansion as being valued at around $20 million, with existing loans and liens totalling nearly $14 million. The remaining equity, they argue, is enough to cover the judgment and other related costs.
Neither Minaj nor her husband has commented publicly on the matter. However, court filings show that the judgment has been pending for several months and attempts to collect payment have been unsuccessful.
The incident in question reportedly occurred backstage during Minaj’s European tour in 2019, where the plaintiff alleged that Petty physically assaulted him during a disagreement.
If granted by the court, the motion could allow the sale of the Hidden Hills home to proceed, potentially marking one of the most notable celebrity property disputes in recent years.
