MTN Ghana has launched Y’ello Protect 419, making it easier than ever for customers to report fraud. By simply dialling 419, users can flag suspicious activity across all MTN platforms, including voice, data, Mobile Money (MoMo), and other digital solutions.

The move is part of MTN’s broader push to strengthen security, build trust, and create a safer digital ecosystem for all users. With fraud and online scams becoming more common in the telecom and digital finance space, the company wants to ensure its customers have a simple and effective way to report suspicious activity.Jemima Kotei Walsh, MTN Ghana’s Chief Customer Relations Officer, explained that the initiative is about empowering customers to act fast:

“With MTN Y’ello Protect 419, we’re giving our customers a simple, memorable way to report fraud or anything that looks off. Our goal is to strengthen trust, protect our users, and create a safer digital world for all.”

She also encouraged everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious calls, messages, or transactions immediately by dialling 419.The new reporting channel builds on MTN’s existing anti-fraud measures and is designed to ensure faster response times, quicker resolutions, and better protection for users. Fraud continues to be a major challenge in telecoms and digital financial services, but MTN is confident that this step will help reduce risks for its customers.

In addition to tackling fraud, MTN Ghana is also looking ahead to 2026 with plans for growth and innovation. CEO Stephen Blewett said the company is committed to enhancing customer experience, expanding digital access, and responding to user needs across the country:

“The digital world is moving fast, and we want more Ghanaians to be part of it. We’re listening to feedback and taking steps to meet customer needs. Our focus is on improving the customer experience and creating more opportunities for Ghanaians to access digital services.”

With Y’ello Protect 419, MTN is making it easier than ever for users to fight back against fraud, safeguard their MoMo accounts, and enjoy a safer digital experience. The company says this is just one of many steps in its mission to strengthen Ghana’s digital ecosystem and build a secure platform for all users.
