Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has revealed new details about her decision to end her marriage to rapper Kanye West, describing the relationship as “toxic” and emotionally draining.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast released on Wednesday, October 15, Kim said her marriage to Kanye had reached a point where she no longer felt “safe or stable,” citing his erratic behavior and impulsive financial decisions.
“There were times when he’d give away things, even cars, without thinking. It was chaos. I realized I couldn’t live in that kind of instability anymore,” she said.
The SKIMS founder explained that despite her efforts to support Kanye through his mental health struggles, she ultimately had to prioritize her own well-being and that of their four children.
“You can love someone and still recognize that it’s not a healthy space for you,” she added.
Kim described the experience as “emotionally exhausting,” noting that her divorce was not driven by a single event but by a pattern of unpredictable behavior that made it difficult to maintain a stable home.
The couple married in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2022 after nearly eight years together. They share four children — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Since their split, Kim has focused on co-parenting and growing her businesses, while Kanye has continued his music and fashion ventures.
