Ghanaian Afrobeat star Gyakie is challenging the typical narrative that passion fuels success in the music industry. Speaking in a candid interview on Luv FM’s DriveTime with Melvin Da Enigma, the “Need Me” hitmaker boldly stated, “My music career is not by passion. I’m hungry for it!”

Gyakie explained that passion alone isn’t enough to sustain her ambitions. “With passion, you could be blown off. Anything can stop you. I’m not just passionate about music—I’m hungry and striving to push through,” she emphasized.

Despite being the daughter of Highlife legend Nana Acheampong, Gyakie made it clear that her journey has been one of personal hustle and determination. “Though Nana Acheampong is my father, he taught me to do it myself. It wasn’t like I had things handed to me. I was really hustling,” she said.

Gyakie also teased her upcoming album After Midnight, describing it as a calm, reflective project with a significant emotional impact. While the album touches on love, she stressed that it goes beyond just romantic themes.

Her honest and fearless approach to her career has sparked conversations about what truly drives success, with Gyakie standing as a firm example of ambition, resilience, and self-made growth.
