Flooding in central and in eastern China, killing at least nine people and forcing over 80,000 residents to flee their homes.

The hardest-hit areas include parts of Guangxi, Hunan, and Fujian provinces, where rivers have overflowed, roads have collapsed, and entire villages remain submerged. Emergency crews are working around the clock to rescue stranded residents and deliver food and supplies.

In Guangxi, local officials confirmed that four people died when a landslide buried two homes. In Hunan, rescue teams pulled survivors from rooftops after rising waters swept through multiple towns overnight.

China’s National Meteorological Center has issued red alerts for heavy rainfall in several provinces, warning of more floods and landslides in the coming days.

“The scale of the flooding is devastating,” one emergency official said. “We are mobilizing every resource to reach those in danger.”

Authorities have set up dozens of temporary shelters, while the military has deployed boats and helicopters to reach isolated communities.

Flooding is common during China’s summer rainy season, but experts say climate change is making extreme weather more frequent and severe.

The government has urged residents in flood-prone zones to stay alert and follow evacuation orders.

This shows the effects of global warming and its effect on the world. We need to control the Green House Gas emission on the on our environment before it gets out of hand.
