Harry Maguire defender of Manchester United defender has invited Ghanaian MP Isaac Adongo to pay a visit to Old Trafford.
This comes after Maguire accepted an apology from the legislator for mocking the footballer.
The England center-back expressed his excitement to see the lawmaker at Old Trafford in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“The apology of MP Isaac Adongo has been accepted.” “See you at Old Trafford soon,” Maguire wrote on Twitter in response to a video of Adongo’s apology.
Adongo, the MP for Bolgatanga Central, went viral in international media last year when he mocked Maguire and compared his performance to that of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
However, the legislator has since reversed his position and believes Harry Maguire is now outperforming Dr. Bawumia.
As a result, the legislator apologized to the Manchester United defender for comparing his performance to Bawumia’s handling of Ghana’s economy.
Adongo said on the House floor on Tuesday that Maguire has turned things around and is now a key player for Erik ten Hag’s team.
Taking another shot at the vice president, the MP claimed that Bawumia continues to visit the IMF to beg for loans.
“I must express my sincere apologies to Harry Maguire for hastily comparing my esteemed colleague Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to him,” he said.
Harry Maguire is now a key player for Manchester United after a transformative journey in football. In comparison, our ‘Maguire’ is currently navigating the IMF corridors with a cup in hand.”
Meanwhile, Maguire is back in demand at Manchester United after regaining his form, and he is now one of the team’s first-choice starters.
