In a courtroom on Tuesday, Brittish Williams, formerly known from her role on “Basketball Wives,” received a four-year prison sentence for 15 fraud-related felonies. During the proceedings, the 33-year-old alum of the reality show implored the judge for leniency, expressing her desire not to be separated from her five-year-old daughter, Dash. Williams acknowledged her wrongdoing, stating, “I knew better, and I did wrong anyway,” as reported by the River Front Times, a St. Louis-based newspaper. The prospect of being apart from her child weighed heavily on her.
In addition to the four-year sentence, Judge Henry E. Autrey ordered Williams to pay restitution amounting to $565,000. The sentencing marked a significant turn of events for the once-celebrated reality TV personality. Special Agent in Charge Jay Greenberg remarked, “Brittish Williams was getting paid to portray her celebrity lifestyle on ‘Basketball Wives’ when, in fact, she was a typical fraudster. After today’s sentencing, her reality is now a life of a felon.”
Back in May, Williams had pleaded guilty to a total of 15 federal charges, including misuse of Social Security numbers, bank fraud, making false statements to the IRS, and wire fraud. These crimes spanned nearly a decade and continued even after her indictment, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Diane Klocke.

Federal authorities accused Williams of illicitly obtaining PPP loans intended for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Her involvement in the VH1 show “Basketball Wives LA” began in 2014, during Season 3, where she was featured as the fiancée of overseas basketball player Lorenzo Gordon, who is also the father of her child.
Aside from her reality TV career, Williams co-hosted a morning show on a St. Louis radio station. However, her guilty plea earlier this year led to the loss of her job.
