U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that embattled rapper and music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs has reached out to him for a presidential pardon.
Speaking with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Monday, October 6, President Trump was asked whether he would consider pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein. In his response, he said, “A lot of people have asked me for pardons,” adding that Combs was among them.
Combs was sentenced on Friday, October 3, to more than four years in prison after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, which carried much heavier penalties.
The Bad Boy Records founder’s legal team has also requested that he be moved to a New Jersey federal prison offering drug treatment programs and closer access to family.
President Trump’s remarks mark the first public confirmation that Diddy has directly sought clemency from the White House.
