Did Efya and Tomi Thomas Really Say “I Do”? Her Team Sets the Record Straight

Social media went into a frenzy after viral videos suggested that Ghanaian songstress Efya had secretly tied the knot with Nigerian musician Tomi Thomas. The clips, which quickly gained traction across platforms, showed scenes of celebration that many interpreted as footage from a private wedding ceremony.

Speculation intensified as blogs and online commentators claimed the two artists had held a quiet ceremony in Accra, with some even describing it as a star-studded affair. The visuals, filled with music, dancing, and intimate moments, fueled assumptions that the long-rumoured couple had officially sealed their relationship.

However, Efya’s management team has firmly dismissed the claims.

In a clarification issued following the viral buzz, her representatives stated that no wedding ceremony had taken place. According to the team, the circulating videos were taken during a private gathering linked to a traditional “knocking” ceremony, a customary pre-marital rite in Ghanaian culture, and not a wedding. They emphasized that the footage was never intended for public release and that reports of a marriage are inaccurate.

The statement has since cooled much of the speculation, though online conversations continue. Neither Efya nor Tomi Thomas has publicly addressed the rumours themselves, leaving fans to rely on the official word from her management.

For now, the takeaway is clear: despite the viral excitement and widespread assumptions, there is no confirmed marriage between Efya and Tomi Thomas. What appeared to be wedding bells turned out to be a case of social media running ahead of the facts.
