Chelsea sealed a commanding 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain to win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, delivering a performance that combined sharp attacking play with tactical discipline.
Right from kickoff, Chelsea looked the more determined side. Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after intercepting a misplaced pass and calmly beating PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma. Eight minutes later, Palmer doubled the lead with a curling strike from outside the box, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Momentum remained with Chelsea as halftime approached. In the 43rd minute, João Pedro made it 3-0 after receiving a clever lofted pass from Palmer and chipping it coolly into the net. PSG struggled to recover, with Chelsea’s midfield trio of Enzo Fernández, Moisés Caicedo, and Conor Gallagher controlling the pace and shutting down space for Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé.
As tensions rose, PSG’s João Neves received a red card in the 85th minute for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair, sparking a brief altercation involving manager Luis Enrique. However, Chelsea remained composed and focused, seeing out the match with confidence.
Manager Enzo Maresca praised his team’s hunger and unity. “We played our way, stayed aggressive, and believed in ourselves,” he said.
This victory marks Chelsea’s second Club World Cup title and their first under Maresca. With this win, the Blues not only claimed global supremacy but also silenced critics, proving they are once again a dominant force in world football.
