    B.Simone Be For Real

Influencer and comedian B. Simone is facing criticism online after breaking down in tears over having to shop at H&M despite admitting that, at the time, her best friend was nearly homeless and raised by a single mother.

In a resurfaced podcast clip that quickly made rounds on social media, B. Simone got emotional while reflecting on a time in her early 20s when she could no longer afford the designer brands she was used to and had to turn to budget-friendly stores like H&M.

“I remember crying in the dressing room,” she said, voice trembling. “I had to shop at H&M… I couldn’t afford Gucci or Prada anymore. I felt like a failure.”

But what really struck a nerve with many online was what she said next. In the same breath, she acknowledged that her friend, who she was living with at the time, was “damn near homeless” and raised by a struggling single mom.

The contrast didn’t sit well with the internet. Many users called her comments “tone-deaf,” saying it showed how disconnected some influencers are from reality.

One user tweeted, “Imagine crying over fast fashion while your friend had no stable home. Girl, be for real.”

Others expressed concern over how money and social status seem to define worth for some online personalities, especially in an era where millions are genuinely struggling with housing, jobs, and healthcare.

Though B. Simone may have intended to share a vulnerable moment, the backlash serves as a reminder: perspective is everything.
