The University for Development Studies (UDS) has secured its place in history after emerging champions at the 2025 FISU World University Football Tournament in Dalian, China.
The competition brought together 24 university teams from 17 countries across five continents, including 16 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams.
In the men’s final played on Sunday, September 28, 2025, UDS faced Paulista University of Brazil. The Ghanaian side conceded an early goal but mounted a spirited comeback. The equalizer arrived late in regulation time, pushing the contest into extra time. Victory was sealed in dramatic fashion when a miss-kicked corner from the Brazilian goalkeeper found its way into the net, handing UDS the decisive lead.
