Ghanaian music sensation Kuami Eugene has publicly addressed a brewing feud with social media personality Archipalago, following allegations that the singer disrespected him during an attempted phone call about a potential music collaboration.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie, the Monica hitmaker set the record straight, saying Archipalago’s narrative is misleading.
According to Archipalago, he reached out to Kuami Eugene through a radio presenter to discuss a collaboration, but was shocked when the artiste allegedly refused to speak to him.
“I only called to talk about a possible collaboration, but his attitude was very disrespectful… he shouldn’t act like he’s above everyone,” Archipalago claimed.
But Kuami Eugene says the situation was completely misunderstood.
“After my interview, I was in a car with the presenter who said she needed a lift. While we were driving, Archipalago called her and asked to speak to me. I was on the phone with my mum at the time. I told her I wouldn’t end that call just to talk to him.”
Kuami made it clear that he didn’t appreciate the pressure to suddenly engage in a discussion he wasn’t expecting — especially not when he was speaking with his mother.
“The presenter even told him I was busy and would call later. I don’t know if he didn’t hear that clearly,” Kuami added.
He also addressed Archipalago’s online outbursts that followed, joking:
“Ever since then, he gets angry any time he hears my name. I pray he doesn’t get a heart attack.”
Amid the controversy, Kuami Eugene is keeping his focus on the music. He recently dropped a new single titled “Do Better”, a soulful track that encourages personal growth and introspection.
