According to organiser Mutombo, Black Sherif’s management initially agreed to perform for GH¢300,000 but later demanded an extra GH¢50,000 just an hour before his scheduled appearance.
“We paid him GH¢300,000, but they refused to let him go on stage without an additional GH¢50,000. They argued over it for about an hour,” Mutombo said in an interview.
YB, another organiser, told YFM that Black Sherif’s team also raised concerns about the stage setup, claiming it did not meet their expectations.
“They said the stage didn’t meet their standard. Although the contract didn’t specify production details, they weren’t happy with the setup,” YB explained.
The organisers’ account has provided more context to the incident that led to the singer’s brief, tense performance and the crowd’s frustrated reaction.
