Oklahoma City Thunders (OKC) are the youngest team to ever win the NBA finals. This win is so memorable since it’s the first Game 7 in 9 years. This win is a major milestone for the franchise.
Tyrese Haliburton the Indiana Pacers point guard got injured 7 minutes into the game tearing his Achilles tendon slapping the floor saying ‘No! No!‘. He had made 9 points during his few minutes in the game with many saying the pacers have lost.
OKC took advantage of the Pacers weakness on their offense. Tyrese usually made the skillful passes and the incredible matches during the series, due to his reading of the games.
OKC used Isaiah Hartenstein for setting their screens to give free room for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to make spectacular floaters. This use of their advantage within the first quarter and third quarter gave them the huge lead.
OKC changed up their defense putting much pressure on Pascal Siakam realizing how weakened he was without Tyrese to help him with assists. A lot of fans on social media said the match had become so boring and predictable after Tyrese left.
.J Dub also put a lot of force and pressure on the Pacers defense getting 20 points in the game. He really celebrated the win telling his family ” I won something” really emotional after.
TJ Mcconell was weeping as he hugged Reggie Miller right after the game. In the 3rd quarter he hit 5 points in a row trying to bring the team back into the game.
OKC were exceptional during this game and Shai winning finals MVP was well deserved. He is the 5th player in NBA Game 7 finals history to have 25+ points and10+ assists. OKC are now the 2024-25 finals winners and are the youngest team to accomplish this.
