Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially pulled out of an upcoming concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, where he was set to perform alongside American music icons 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.
The multi-award-winning artist made the announcement on Saturday via his Instagram story, confirming that he would no longer be part of the July 3, 2025 event.
Davido explained that his decision stemmed from unresolved issues with the event organizers, Iconic Presents, citing their failure to address “key elements required to uphold the integrity and quality” of his performance.
In his statement, the singer also alluded to concerns of discrimination, strongly emphasizing the need for African creatives to be treated with dignity and fairness. “Africa must be respected,” he asserted.
While fans expressed disappointment, Davido reassured his London audience that he would return this summer as part of the European leg of his highly anticipated 5 Alive tour.
He also clarified that the concert would still go on as scheduled—but without his participation.
