Prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako, Founder and Leader of Alive Chapel International, his wife Mouha, and their maid, Linda Bempah, were rearrested by the police shortly after the Office of the Attorney General withdrew charges against them.
The trio had been charged with “permitting an unlicensed person to drive” following a tragic accident involving their 16-year-old son, Elrad Amoako, in East Legon on 12 October 2024.
During court proceedings on Monday, 17 February, at the Accra Circuit Court, state prosecutor Ebenezer Acquah announced that the Attorney General’s office had withdrawn the charge sheet to allow the police to investigate further.Judge Samuel Bright Acquah granted the prosecution’s request. Still, shortly after the court session ended, Prophet Salifu Amoako, his wife, and his maid were apprehended by police officers stationed outside the courtroom. The officers escorted them to a waiting vehicle and drove them away, with no further information provided. Background
Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako were fined GH¢6,000 each for the fatal East Legon crash, which killed two young girls. The court ordered the pastor to pay more than GH¢8,000 for damage to a light pole at the scene.Their 16-year-old son, who was deemed responsible for the crash, has been sentenced to six months in a senior correctional facility after pleading guilty to eight charges, including two counts of manslaughter. He was remanded to the Osu Correctional Centre during the prosecution before being sentenced.

Police discovered that the teenager was speeding in his parents’ Jaguar F-Pace Sport when it collided with a black Acura carrying the victims. According to reports, the boy and a friend drove the Jaguar to A&C Mall, where they met up with others in two SUVs. The three vehicles then formed a convoy, with the accused driving his mother’s vehicle through East Legon.

Prophet Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha, and Linda Bonsu Prempeh, a sales assistant, were arrested and charged with “permitting an unlicensed person to drive” alongside the teenager. On October 16, 2024, Amoakos and Linda Bonsu Prempeh pleaded not guilty in court. The Accra Circuit Court granted them bail of GH¢50,000 each, with two sureties.
