The U.S. Embassy in Accra has officially announced the release of over 2,000 visa appointment slots available over the next two weeks for applicants seeking B1/B2 visas. This presents a valuable opportunity for those planning trips to the United States soon.

The newly opened appointment slots cater to individuals who intend to visit for various reasons, including business meetings, family reunions, tourism, and attendance at significant international events like the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to take place across North America.

In their statement, the Embassy encouraged potential applicants to act swiftly in securing one of the open interview dates.

Additionally, travelers who already have visa appointments scheduled for later this year are urged to log into the scheduling system to explore the possibility of moving their appointments to earlier dates.

This initiative aims to alleviate appointment backlogs and offer greater flexibility for those whose travel plans may be time-sensitive. The demand for B1/B2 visas, which accommodate temporary business and tourism or family visit trips, has remained high in recent years.
