A cloud of sorrow and controversy has descended upon the TikTok community following the tragic death of a young woman known as Yaa Baby in Yeji, Bono East Region—an incident that has now led to the arrest and remand of two popular content creators, GH Kobby and his associate Obolo.

GH Kobby, born Hayford Boateng, is a well-known figure on Ghanaian TikTok, celebrated for his flashy lifestyle and humorous skits. However, the influencer now finds himself at the center of a criminal investigation that has shocked fans and residents alike. He and his friend Obolo were arrested after authorities linked them to Yaa Baby shortly before her sudden and suspicious demise.

According to eyewitnesses, Yaa Baby was last seen alive in the company of the two men. Though the exact events leading to her death remain unclear, police sources say there were inconsistencies in the initial accounts provided by the suspects, raising further suspicions. Following preliminary questioning, the suspects were arraigned before a local magistrate and subsequently remanded into custody to assist with ongoing investigations.

The atmosphere in Yeji has since been tense, with locals demanding answers and justice for the late Yaa Baby. Described by friends and family as warm-hearted and full of life, her death has left many devastated.

On social media, the news has spread like wildfire. Videos and past content from GH Kobby have resurfaced as netizens react with a mix of shock, anger, and sorrow. Some fans have expressed disbelief, while others are calling for a swift and transparent investigation.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased is pleading with authorities not to let the case go cold. “She didn’t deserve to die like this,” one relative lamented. “We need to know what really happened.”

The Yeji District Police Command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and has urged against the spread of misinformation as forensic examinations and witness statements are being collected.

As the case unfolds, many are watching closely—not just for justice, but for the truth behind the death that has turned an internet sensation into a prime suspect in a tragic mystery.
