The Ministry of Health (Ghana) has suspended Fredrick Anaba, Principal of the College of Nursing, Nkanchina, over the alleged over-admission of students and the introduction of unapproved academic programmes.
The action follows the launch of a full administrative investigation by the Ministry into the matter. Mr Anaba was initially queried on 19 February 2026 regarding admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year.
After reviewing his response, the Ministry concluded that a comprehensive investigation was necessary to clarify the circumstances surrounding the alleged irregularities.
In the interim, the Principal has been directed to hand over management responsibilities to the Acting Vice Principal to ensure the smooth running of the college.
The Ministry stressed its commitment to enforcing strict adherence to admission quotas and approved academic programmes across all health training institutions, underscoring the importance of compliance in maintaining educational standards.
Further updates are expected once the investigation is completed.
The statement was issued by Isaac Ofei Baah, Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Health, on Thursday, 12 March.
