Anger and frustration have erupted in Nairobi this week following the death of a well-known Kenyan teacher and activist while in police custody. The incident has sparked protests across the capital, with many demanding justice and answers from authorities.

The man, whose name has not been officially released, was arrested earlier this month during a public gathering. A few days later, police announced he had died in his cell, claiming he had hit his own head and suffered a fatal injury.

But that explanation didn’t sit well with the public and things became even more heated when doctors who examined the body said the injuries did not match the police report. According to the medical team, the wounds looked more like those caused by blunt force from someone else, not a self-inflicted accident.

This new information has only added fuel to the fire. Crowds of protesters have taken to the streets of Nairobi, holding up signs, chanting, and calling for an independent investigation. Many believe this is not just an isolated case, but part of a bigger problem of police violence and abuse of power in Kenya.

Human rights groups have also spoken out, demanding accountability and calling on the government to take immediate action.

Meanwhile, the family of the late teacher is devastated. They remember him as a peaceful man who cared deeply about his community and stood up for people’s rights.

As pressure mounts, all eyes are now on the Kenyan authorities to provide answers and ensure justice is served.
