Prophet Elisha Joshua, a pastor and former independent parliamentary candidate for Evalue Gwira in the 2024 elections, has announced the completion of a new statue of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to Prophet Joshua, the replacement statue will soon be reinstalled at its original site, the Effiankwanta Regional Hospital Roundabout in Sekondi, where the previous monument once stood.
The original statue, which was erected to honor President Akufo-Addo’s contributions to the development of the Western Region, was mysteriously dismantled by unknown persons ahead of the 2024 general elections. The act drew widespread criticism and concern among residents, many of whom described it as politically motivated.
Prophet Joshua, who had earlier vowed to ensure the statue’s restoration, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity and respect for national leaders, regardless of political affiliation.
