More than 1,400 people have signed an online petition calling for justice for Ransford Owusu Ansah, a 16-year-old footballer who allegedly suffered repeated sexual abuse by his coach at the Siano Soccer Academy in Amasaman, Accra.

Launched on Change.org on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the petition urges agencies, including the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Ghana Police Service (GPS) and the Attorney‑General’s Department to arrest and prosecute the coach, Ibrahim Anyass, and suspend the academy until an investigation is completed.

According to the petition, Ransford’s ordeal began after he joined the academy, where he was allegedly subjected to years of abuse that damaged his physical and emotional health and ultimately led to his stay at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he eventually died.

The case has ignited the hashtag #JusticeForRansford, with widespread public outcry over institutional failures to protect children in sports.
