In an exciting update, Google’s NotebookLM has taken a significant leap forward by introducing a feature that transforms users’ research and notes into fully animated “cinematic” videos. This enhancement builds upon the previous video overview capability, which only allowed for narrated slideshows.
The new video overview functionality leverages advanced AI models, including Gemini 3, Nano Banana Pro, and Veo 3, to generate dynamic visuals that align with the content of users’ notes. Gemini plays a crucial role in determining the narrative structure and visual style, ensuring a polished and cohesive final product.
This update is part of a broader trend of recent AI video advancements from Google. Last month, the tech giant improved its Veo AI video model and expanded access to Flow, its innovative AI video generation tool. Additionally, Google showcased a new “Project Genie” AI video creator that allows users to create short clips inspired by popular video games.
Starting today, the cinematic video overviews are available in NotebookLM, specifically for users aged 18 and over who subscribe to Google AI Ultra. However, there are limitations; users can generate a maximum of 20 cinematic video overviews each day, and the feature is currently only available in English.
This innovative tool aims to empower users, making their presentations and research sharing more impactful and engaging. As AI technology continues to evolve, features like these demonstrate Google’s commitment to enhancing the user experience and fostering creativity in research presentation.
