Rev. Philip Phaneuf, a pastor in the Methodist Church in New York, has announced plans to reveal his gender transition during the Nov 23 service, saying the change signifies an end to pretending to be a man. Wearing a rainbow stole, Rev. Philip Phaneuf of Rochester’s North Chili United Methodist Church gave the sermon from the pulpit.
“So I get to announce with joy that I’m transitioning,” Phaneuf said. I’m confirming to all of you that I’m transgender. To put it simply, I’m not changing into a woman; rather, I’m merely quitting acting like a man.
The pastor indicated the new name will be Phillippa, and the preferred pronouns are she/her. Changes in look, voice, and hair are anticipated after three months of hormone replacement therapy. Rev. Philip Phaneuf, now known as Phillippa, corroborated the information in an interview with Fox News Digital and stated that the church reacted cordially.

This is a process, and some may be surprised at what it entails. The preacher also admitted to identifying as asexual, saying, “I’m in the category of what they call asexual.” I’ve been that way since we’ve all been together, in that I’m not living my life looking for romance.
