KSM Urges NDC Appointees to Reject “Loot and Share” Mentality Amid Arrest of Former GIHOC Boss

Veteran Ghanaian satirist and broadcaster Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) has praised the arrest of former GIHOC Managing Director Maxwell Kofi Jumah, calling it a turning point in Ghana’s fight against corruption and a wake-up call for public officials.

Jumah was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on June 29, 2025, over allegations of state asset misappropriation, including purchasing a Genesis G90 luxury car at just 5% of its real market value.

Reacting to the news via a video posted on his YouTube channel, KSM condemned the long-standing mindset of using political office as a shortcut to wealth.

“There’s this mentality that public office means it’s your turn to loot. Even when there’s little to steal, they’ll take what’s left,” KSM said.

He clarified that his remarks weren’t personal attacks, but rather an expression of relief that accountability measures are finally being enforced.

“I was actually glad to hear Kofi Jumah had been picked up by National Security in Kumasi. It shows that some work is being done—and he’s not the only one,” he noted.

KSM stressed the need for a broader accountability drive to send a strong message to all political actors.

“If those who have looted are being arrested one by one, it tells Ghanaians that the era of impunity might finally be ending. It’s time we all say: ‘Never again,’” he declared.

The media icon also addressed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) directly, urging its current and future appointees to reject corrupt practices if they regain power.

“If NDC appointees fall into this same trap, it will be a monumental disaster,” he warned.

He closed with a call for national unity, reminding Ghanaians that real progress requires cooperation beyond political lines.

“Resetting Ghana means we think as one people with one destiny. Let’s stay focused. This is not the time for political games.”
