Kim Jong Un North Korea’s is set open a Beach Resort this summer to boost tourism in his country. Kim who is a well known dictator’s decision comes as a shock to many.
North Korea are known for their extreme disciplinary methods, Nuclear weapons program as well as worshiping Kim. The last tourist in North Korea was US student Otto Warmbier who was detained and tortured for 15 months.
The North Korean Government returned Otto home as a disabled “vegetable” after torturing him months and the US government pleading for his return. The internet is saying Kim is taking Trump’s advice on boosting tourism.
The masses around the world are quite skeptical about going to North Korea for tourism. They are scared they would be tortured like Otto calling the resort “the water park of no return”.
Kim might have good intentions about the water park but the past actions of North Korea makes it very difficult to trust their intentions. North Korea would have to change their to prove to the world that they would like inclusivity and promote tourism.
The road ahead of KIm to make North Korea a tourist site may take time, but it wouldn’t be impossible. Accomplishing this goal would take patience and a relationship with other nations.
