Following a surprising transfer to Brazil, Jesse Lingard’s salary as he joins Corinthians has come to light, with numbers notably lower than those of his former teammate Memphis Depay.
After parting ways with FC Seoul, where he spent two seasons and scored 19 goals in 67 matches, Lingard has signed with Corinthians. In a recent statement, he expressed gratitude for his time in South Korea, describing it as “an unforgettable experience.” Despite having multiple clubs interested in him, including West Ham and Celtic, Lingard’s journey has now taken him to Sao Paulo.
While Lingard’s addition is seen as a significant coup for Corinthians, his reported salary of €100,000 (£86,000) per month starkly contrasts with Memphis Depay’s astonishing €980,000 (£850,000) monthly earnings at the club—almost ten times Lingard’s pay.
The move provides Lingard the chance to rekindle his partnership with Depay, whom he played alongside at Manchester United during the 2015-16 season. Depay has become a key player for Corinthians, netting 19 goals since his arrival in 2024. Lingard will also be joining a roster that includes experienced European players like Gabriel Paulista and Andre Carrillo.
Lingard has signed a deal with Corinthians that extends until December, with prospects for further extensions based on his performances. His move to Corinthians became possible after negotiations with another Brazilian side, Remo, did not finalize, paving the way for this exciting new chapter.
