Since taking charge from Thomas Frank on February 14, Tudor has yet to secure a win, with Spurs recording losses in all three of their league matches. Most recently, a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace heightened the urgency for a change in leadership before the club faces a potential drop into the Championship.
Now 68, Hoddle, who was a key player for Spurs and managed the club from 2001 to 2003, conveyed his heartfelt connection to the club during an appearance on the “Could It Be Magic” podcast. “It would be an opportunity I would relish, particularly at Spurs, my lifelong club,” he stated passionately.
Reflecting on his previous tenure, Hoddle acknowledged the difficulties posed by financial constraints. “I probably managed at the wrong time politically and financially,” he remarked. “The situation wasn’t as they had led me to believe.”
The conversation also touched on former teammate Robbie Keane, now enjoying success as a manager in Hungary. Hoddle believes a partnership could work: “Robbie is doing great, but mixing his youthful energy with my experience could create a strong dynamic.”
