Deborah Vanessa Owusu-Bonsu, better known as Ghanaian musician Sister Derby, has stated that she is not interested in having a personal relationship due to the negative effects it would have on her life.
She clarified that she often slows down because of the time and effort she devotes to her relationship. She is happy living a solitary life without the hassles of a love relationship as a result.
Sister Derby said that she has been saddened when her lover does not return the love and attention she provides. Her choice to stay unmarried and put her needs first has been affected by this disappointment.

Sister Derby filled Okay FM in on her decision to remain single in an interview. She emphasized that because of her generosity and compassion, she puts a lot of effort into her relationships, which can be emotionally draining.
She also expressed how annoying it is for males to take advantage of her generosity after she has shown them affection and concern.
Sister Derby, who once dated Medikal, had earlier claimed that her ex-partner had been dishonest to her by sleeping with Fella Makafui. She no longer pursues new romantic connections in favor of putting her personal wants and well-being first after this event.
