Samuel L. Jackson Revealed That He Doesn’t Remember How He Proposed To His Wife Because He ‘Was On Drugs’ At The Time

Samuel L. Jackson says he doesn’t remember the full details of how he got engaged to his wife LaTanya
Richardson Jackson, because he “was on drugs” at the time.
The “Marvel” star appeared on the “Jennifer Hudson Show” on Monday, where he revealed his lack of memory for one of the most significant moments in his life. When asked how he proposed to his wife, he confessed that he and his wife share two different stories.
“My story was I came home one day, and she already had these invitations printed up, and she gave me a stack and said, ‘Be here,'” he said. However, his wife said, ‘No, that’s not what happened,” Jackson claimed.
According to LaTanya’s version,
” actually had to go and talk to her grandfather because he told her he wanted to walk it down the aisle before he died,” the Shaft actor explained.
“So I went and asked him for her hand or whatever. And that’s probably what happened because I was on drugs, and I don’t know what the hell was going on in my life. So she’s probably right, but I like my version better. It sounds so much fun.”
Jackson and LaTanya reportedly have one of the longest-term marriages in Hollywood. The couple have been together for 50 years and married for 42 years. They will be celebrating their 43rd anniversary in August, according to Jackson. They also share one child, Zoe Jackson, an Emmy award-winning reality show producer.
